Overwhelming response (15 Jan 2013)
This evening's chapter session is the first chapter meeting of 2013 and we had an overwhelming response from guests and fellow toastmasters from other clubs. We'd the honour of having Siao Yan (our dear friend of Braddell Heights 1) from Toa Payoh South Toastmaster Club as well as Pei Shan from Cheng San CC. We also had 4 guests joining us. A wonderful mix of guests and member interaction. And of course, how could we forget another of our dear friend, Fernando Young from AIA Changi. :)
Chiew Ping kicked off the meeting as the SAA, followed by our new President, Alvin, first opening speech. :) A pity the photographer that day didn't take photos. Alvin shared about goal setting and the importance of how it can give us more clarity in our lives.
The session then moved on to prepared speeches, where Heidi and Vanessa presented their Project 4 speeches while Chiew Ping presented her final inspirational Project 10. Everyone had a good time learning from the speakers.
After a short break and refreshments, Table Topics and evaluations were next. Table topics is a segment where speakers would be given a random topic and they have to think on their feet to response to the topic in 1-2 minutes time frame. Evaluation allows the speaker to learn from the senior members how they could further improve their speech and take it to the next level.
Below are the winners for the night!

Vanessa walked home with the Best Table Topics!
Christina was the Best Evaluator for the evening!
A special gift from Christina to Alex for being courageous to take up Table Topics on first visit!
The session ended with President concluding speech and collection of the goals that the members have set out to do. In Braddell Heights, we are firm believers of mentor-mentee hand-holding in order to achieve greater heights together!
So join us in our next meeting in 5 February, Tuesday.
