Braddell Heights 1 Toastmasters' Chapter Meeting on 03 May 2016 has marked  an overwhelming participation from its Members & Guests!! The meeting was vibrant & participative..  We had 4 segments in the meeting -  1.) Prepared Speech, 2.) Project Evaluation  3.) Table Topics, and   4.) General Evaluation PREPARED SPEAKERS: Prepared Speakers had put in lot of efforts to prepare & deliver one of their finest & passionate speeches. PROJECT EVALUATORS: Project Evaluators gave their valuable inputs & insights to the Speakers to work on their strengths and to improve on their gaps. TABLE TOPICS: The most exciting part of any Toastmasters meeting would be the Table Topics (impromptu speech about the topic given on the spot). 15 Dec 2015 Braddell Heights 1 Toastmasters' Chapter Meeting on 15 Dec 2015 has marked a  fun & frolic   Christmas Party with an overwhelming participation from its Members & Guests!! It was a great fun evening with lots of energy & enthusiasm from participants.   The session was crafted & conducted by our young Toastmaster Alex Tan with his Debate session,  Table Topics & Story-telling games!! Debate topic - The topic was  "Should naughty Children be given ' presents' ?" Split into 2 groups - 1 group proposed  & another group opposed in their argument. That evening was marked by many first timers. Let's dive straight into the chapter meeting and see how well the first timers did. Yung Chin (above) was Sergent At Arms (SAA) for the first time. He did a great job in facilitating the activity. Katie, on the other hand, also a first timer for Toastmaster of Evening (also known as Emcee for the night) had done it brilliantly in introducing the respective speakers, evaluators and appointment holders. Despite being her first time, she spoke confidently and naturally. Our President, Alvin, was not around for the evening. Vanessa, our Vice-President Education took over as acting Club President for the night. She gave an inspirational opening speech about her experience in the contest and how members should take advantage to learn from the usual chapter meetings. It's been 3 months since the last update, much apologies for that. During this period, we still continue to meet up every first and third Tuesday of the month . That evening was Bernard's first attempt as SAA & TME (aka emcee for the night). A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Indeed, this quote rang true for the meeting that evening. Let's take a look at what happened this evening. The Prepared Speech segment, we had a total of 3 speakers. The first speaker was Bernard Kok. He just joined us a month ago and was doing his maiden speech this month. As they said, "strike while the iron is hot" and Bernard seemed to be doing so. The second speaker was Yong Chin. He's also doing his first maiden speech. The third speaker was Melissa about how to relax and wind down in a fast pacing life. Alvin, our club President, was the timer for the first time as well. In Toastmaster, regardless of your position, we provide a conducive platform for all to learn regardless of your position or background. The special training that evening was conducted by Vincent. This is the first meeting of the month. It felt like a while since last month; our second meeting in October coincided with a public holiday. As many couldn't arrive on time due to the heavy downpour, the meeting had a little change in program.  We had table topics first instead as our first item of the evening.
